Krakow, Poland -- Part Two

Our first day and a half in Krakow was spent walking around the city. The streets had long, strange names, like Starowisla, Westerplatte, and Dietla, and the first day we got lost on more than one occasion.

I loved the old, sometimes abandoned buildings and the colorful doors in the city.

It seemed like there were synagogues and cathedrals around every corner!

Krakow held a large amount of Jewish synagogues and Jewish architecture until World War II, when Nazis either ruined them or used the buildings for storage.

We visited Wawel Castle.

But we didn't pay to go in the castle. We had better things to do, like...

Buy ice cream and sit by the river!

There were so many swans! We sat there for about an hour, then made our way through the rest of the city.
A couple of nights we bought pizza for dinner. It was originally 7-9 zloty, but staying at the Panda Hostel we got a 50% off discount! 4 zloty for two slices of pizza. That's about $1.25! There are definitely some rewards when traveling to a second world country ;)
