Barcelona -- Gothic Quarter

After we stopped in the interesting museums, we wandered back to La Rambla, took a random street right and found ourselves in the Gothic Quarter.

There were so many people, and the streets were so narrow!

We walked into a store right across from this cathedral, looking at all the same souvenirs we've seen at all the touristy shops.
Rose is making this series where she takes pictures of all the hearts she sees on our trips.
I found a cute heart pillow and I held it up so she could take a picture of it.
All of a sudden, we hear the store owner, who was a very short but large lady, storm towards us, yelling "NO NO NO. NO PICTURES. NO PICTURES!" We were startled and said we were sorry, we didn't know. She got in Rose's face and said, "NO PICTURES. ERASE PICTURE."

Rose and I exchanged looks, because for all the places we've been and accidentally taken pictures where we weren't supposed to, we've never been asked to erase our pictures. Rose held her camera where the owner couldn't see it and pressed some buttons, pretending to erase the picture, but I could see that she didn't.
The owner started rambling very loud and very fast in Catalan, saying "STUPID AMERICANS. PUTA TAKING PICTURES, GET OUT OF MY STORE! NO PICTURES! PUTA PUTA PUTA!" Rose and I were taken aback and left the store.
Needless to say, that woman became a great inside joke for us on our trip.

We turned the corner and found this shop. The Happy Pills store. This store was right around the corner from the angry shop owner's store, and we wondered why she hadn't heard of it, because she clearly did not take her happy pills that morning.

This was definitely my favorite store in Barcelona. You chose a pill bottle size, filled it up with sugar candies and put a cute label on the side. If these were my prescriptions, I would eat them every day, no problem!
