The Cliffs of Moher

Yesterday, Rose and I went on a tour to the Cliffs of Moher! We got up at 4 in the morning and left our apartment at 5:30 to catch the Number 4 bus.
Here's a little insight into the party scene in our apartment complex: when we were leaving at 5:30, the sun wasn't out yet, but there was a room with the lights and music blaring and people laughing and talking. They were still partying! I was so bewildered!
We arrived at the city centre around 6:15. Our tour bus was scheduled to leave at 6:50 so we had some time to get a cup of coffee and sit and wait.
It took us almost 3 hours to get across Ireland, but we stopped in the little town of Moneygall on the way:

This was Barack Obama's great-great-great-great grandfather's house! He was a shoemaker, and his son left for New York City in 1850.

Ireland loves America!

After a few more stops, we arrived at the Cliffs of Moher around 12:30. The Cliffs of Moher is in County Clare.

It was very windy and cold!

Maroon 5's song Runaway was filmed here! View the cool music video here: http://youtu.be/UzCcgwtvOf0

This is O'Brien's Tower. It is the highest point on the cliffs.
It was built in 1835 by Sir Cornellius O'Brien as an observation tower for the many Victorian tourists who visited the cliffs.

Then we went to The Burren, which used to be underwater. It is 300 meters above sea level and the area is often wet because of the Atlantic Ocean spray.

Thousands of years of erosion has caused ruts, divots and channels in the limestone rocks.

It looks like the edge of the Earth!
